Conflict of interest?
I WAS sorry to read that one of our more able councillors has been deselected for the forthcoming elections in May.
The reason given for being deselected is that Cllr Ensor is a Rother District Councillor and an East Sussex County Councillor and this apparently creates a conflict of interest.
Do we assume that the other Conservative councillors who also hold both posts will also be deselected?

Hide AdCould the real reason be that Cllr Ensor actually declared an interest in standing for Leader if re elected? This may have scuppered the plans of the cartel currently operating in Rother District Council.
It is gratifying to know that there are still councillors who are prepared to stand up and be counted.
