LETTER: Fowl language

I do wish that all your correspondents, and especially those of featured articles, would rely more on common sense, rather than their spell checker.

If your correspondents would actually read their work before issuing it, rather than rely on their (lack of) typing expertise and their spell checker, their articles would seem less ridiculous.

In last week’s paper, there was an article on a film about a rebellious teenage girl, where much of the filming was done in Worthing.

It was “controversial due to her rebellious nature, teenage exploits and fowl language”.

Though set in the 1950s, it was made in the 1980s, when I was middle-aged, and anyone then saying “cluck, cluck, cluck” to anyone would not cause offence.
