LETTER: ‘Free schools’ not run by the LEA
‘Free Schools’ and ‘Academies’ in West Sussex are no longer run by the Local Education Authority -LEA - at County Hall, Chichester (‘Damage done by lack of hot meals’, WSCT letters, Sept 18).
Many of us in this county, and beyond, could be forgiven for asking what the county council’s Tory Cabinet Member for Education and Skills, Cllr Jeremy Hunt, actually does for 80 per cent of our council tax.
I am also beginning to seriously wonder whether the term ‘Education Authority’ has now become an oxymoron at County Hall.
