LETTER: Lower charges to encourage visits

We were pleasantly surprised on visiting Midhurst last weekend to find that the first two hours’ parking in the town’s large car park was free. If Midhurst can do it, why can’t Horsham?

Spending money on a fancy new ticketless parking scheme whilst maintaining the charges at the current exorbitant rates is not going to attract people to the town whereas had the money spent on the scheme been put towards financing lower charges more people might feel inclined to visit.

How about a bargain rate of £1 for up to two hours if the idea of free for two hours is thought too radical.
