Park to be proud of

WE have watched with enormous interest the work being undertaken in Egerton Park. Every morning, Monday to Saturday, rain, storm or sun, the team are out there working, apparently starting at 7am.

They work in the most appalling conditions, with the cold, the wet and the mud, yet despite this the work is progressing rapidly.

At the moment the preparation work does make it look rather as if a bomb has gone off, but despite this the site is well maintained and never left untidy.

May we congratulate all concerned on the tremendous efforts and the speed with which the work is being undertaken.

Once it is completed, in March according to the notices, we shall once again have a park to be proud of.

One tiny question remains - will the rubbish that has been exposed by draining the ponds be removed before final filling?

Based on what we have seen, it does look as if that might be the final stage - then it’s just a matter of all of us looking after our park.
