Planners praised

I WOULD like to express my pleasure and delight in the improvements introduced by the council and the planners along the seafront at Littlehampton.

I couldn’t disagree more with D. A. Wiseman’s letter “Seafront is not just for the young” (Gazette, November 18).

I am 84, and think the new development shows imagination, verve and great originality. I feel sure it has given Littlehampton real style.

When I look at the old utilitarian shelters by comparison, I feel grateful we have such a forward-looking council.

As for the question of “taste” – it seems to me to be excellent at every level and I feel sorry your previous correspondent cannot see it in that way.

The young of today will enjoy seeing and using such an imaginative scheme, as I do, and I say thank-you and well done to the council, and down with the detractors!
