Is the Rother District Council leader worth it?

With reference to Councillor Sam Coleman’ item, Bexhill Observer 4th Sept, Rother are rather cash strapped at the moment and are having to consider possible voluntary redundancies and putting a hold on major projects. But despite the financial problems our worthy council are prepared to pay the chief executive £100,000 per annum.

Does this make sense?
