Support Barcelona Marathon teachers

THANK you for publishing an article about Headstart 2 Work recently, and thank you to those who have reacted so positively and provided some much needed support to help us set up our new projects.

You highlighted the efforts of two of our teachers who have been dedicating their spare time to training for the impending Barcelona Marathon, which is to take place in March this year.

With just a month to go now they have been pounding the streets come rain or shine (and even the snow!) in order to be fit enough to tackle the 25 mile course in Spain.

With local youth unemployment figures at an all time high, the need for vocational projects such as Headstart 2 Work, has never been greater.

Whilst the fundraising has officially begun, we still need to raise £2,000 so that we can take further steps to help disadvantaged local teenagers overcome their personal barriers and move into work.

Sincere thanks to those who have already responded and provided support with monetary donations or the skills offered by local trades people in improving our facilities.
