Tough luck, council

REGARDING the new seafront 'shelters' the council are now planning a new wheeze '“ sticking a piece of glass over one of the openings. The poor souls think this will appease the people and make them warm to these monstrosities.

Well, tough luck council. I’m afraid nothing you could do to these incompetent designs, short of chucking them on the bonfire this weekend, will satisfy the ratepayers of this town.

This whole issue has turned into a farce, what started out in the heady days as a “series of sculptures along the seafront” with “impromptu performances in them” and “embracing the weather” a project that would “bring tourists flooding into the town” has turned into a sorry mess, a cobbled together set of useless awkward structures no use to man or beast and an embarrassment.

No, councillors Maynard and Starnes with Tony Leonard, the shelters will not do. You are meant to represent and serve the people so please do so. Admit this has been nothing but a botched job.
