The latest addition to our local road network, the North Bexhill Access Road (NBAR), appears to have fallen further and further behind scheduled completion.

Originally proposed to open in May 2018, it soon became apparent that this could not be achieved, no doubt due to the poor weather over the winter period that could not be forecast or factored in.

A revised date of the end of September was mooted, this again was clearly not achievable, probably due to the very hot and dry weather in the summer that could not be forecast and hampered progress.

The end of October became the next milestone, unfortunately missed again.

Trying to obtain any useful information from Sea Change Sussex about this project has proved impossible as they will not answer direct questions.

There have been reports of changes to the specification as the project started to go over budget, these changes possibly being detrimental to the surrounding area due to the increased risk of flooding.

Sea Change Sussex are using public funding to deliver this new road, but continue to keep the public in the dark regarding progress, changes to the specification and overspend.

Would they now be willing to tell the local community that they purport to serve, exactly when the road will open and the overall cost and projected overspend?
