With castle exception '“ great event and fine village atmosphere

I THOUGHT I would write in to say how much my family and I enjoyed the Angmering Village Market at Fletcher's Field on Saturday.

The array of stalls was fantastic, featuring a variety of crafts, cheeses, jams and delicious chutneys, and with superb weather, the whole event had a truly marvellous village feel.

It was great to see the Angmering Allotment Association members selling (and selling out early) their wonderful, freshly-grown produce, from massive marrows to "burn in your mouth" chillies!

Truly top drawer!

I personally enjoyed the Hammerpot Brewery and the Iron Railway Vineyard stands, both inviting potential customers to try before they buy.

The handbell ringers also deserve a mention.

The only thing that let the event down was the cost of the rides for the children '” the over-priced bouncy castle charged 1.50 for five minutes, and I was even charged for my 14-month-old daughter (who can't even walk yet!) to sit on the edge!

Still, that aside, a great village event, and long may it continue!
