Would have been safe

I HAVE sympathy with Mr Steve Hall on the decision to reject his appeal about development of the beach facilities at Herbrand Walk, Cooden. How can anyone call this stretch of beach a beauty spot? It is a shingle area where there are very few people about, summer or winter.

The last protest a few years ago was against plans for a travellers’ site at Herbrand Walk. This situation could occur again. If the plans were passed for the beach leisure site, it could not.

To have water sports on a selective beach area would make it much safer for youngsters at Bexhill’s seaside.

We are currently spending vast sums of money on the promenade, yet a suggestion to improve the area and provide recreation for young and not so young has been rejected.

We just cannot continue to bury our heads in the sand. If we do, the town will continue to decline.
