Pancakes at Charters Ancaster

Due to rain the races were delayed until the afternoon and took place on the new all-weather sports pitch.

All of the main school participated, the children bringing their own pans and each class taking it in turn to hold its own individual race.

Mr Collins and sports teacher Mrs Casebourne kept a watchful eye on the event, with Mr Collins pre-race instructions including; "Pancakes must be tossed at least 62cms in the air and at least once every 2.6 metres."

He later commented: "I'm not sure the younger ones quite understood the rules, but I am sure the local wildlife will enjoy eating up the broken pancakes!"
