Lindfield Bonfire Night's annual event is set for Thursday, November 5. The society will also be holding its first event of the year on Thursday, January 30 at The Red Lion, 60 High Street, Lindfield. Mike Webster, one of the organisers, said: "The events we do throughout the year, like First Bonfire, are raising money to put our main event on. "Without support throughout the year to raise the target around 14,000 the event could not happen. "Our aim after all is to be able to put on a great free night for the community with a procession, bonfire and great fireworks. "We gave the best part of 800 to five charities after last year. The total of money raised by all Sussex bonfire societies last year was 65,000." Photo: Derek Martin
