We have all spoken of hope in our New Year messages, and it is in many of our hearts today.

“However, hope can only be realised if we hold out a hand and help to make all the things we hope for happen.

“We are an amazing community with so many individuals, groups, businesses and organisations pulling together to support each other.

“This year our New Year Resolutions should be all about how we as individuals can contribute to our community.

“We need to be aware of what we can do to help others, we need to support our young people realise their dreams, we must care for our environment, help renew our town’s vibrancy and have a positive outlook for the future, putting aside our differences.

“Please do what you can to keep yourself and others safe and well, and I look forward to working with you and for you all in the coming days.”
