The black short haired cat with green eyes called Alfie, went missing from Cavalry Crescent in Old Town on January 8 at 6am. Dan Shelton, who owns 15-year-old Alfie, said his pet went out for his usual morning walk around the garden but never came back.

Dan said Alfie has a medical condition requiring medication twice a day for thyroid problems and they are ‘very worried about where he might be’.

He said Alfie doesn’t normally stray far and he’s very vocal too.

Dan said, “We have been posting leaflets through doors in our area and putting up posters asking everyone to check any sheds outdoor buildings or under bushes just in case he’s hiding there.”

Dan said Alfie is microchipped and neighbours have been helping look for him.

He said, “Alfie is neutered and very much loved and missed because he normally does not leave my partner’s side or mine making this so very hard.

“With it being so cold at the moment and Alfie being gone so long we are really worried about him and just want him home. We are urging people to check their gardens, outdoor structures and let us know if he is spotted.

“I am an NHS key worker and my partner and I are finding it really hard not having our little furry bundle of love with us in the warm where he should be.”
