Bognor Regis residents claim an eight-foot sink hole has been uncovered in Victoria Drive, Bognor Regis, today (September 15).

A Bognor Regis Observer reader sent in a photo of the sink hole which, they claim, was uncovered by roadworks by City Fibre open Broadband.

A spokesperson for West Sussex County Council warned motorists to plan their journeys around the sinkhole in the days to come: “A significant void has been identified under the carriageway in Victoria Drive between Lindon Road and Chichester Road Roundabout. In the interest of public safety, this road has been closed in both directions while investigations and repair works are carried out. Due to the presence of underground pipes, we anticipate this road will remain closed for several days as a minimum. Please plan your journey accordingly.”
