“We have fun and put in a lot of effort all year in order to pull off the bonfire night event. It is all free to the public but we fundraise all year.”

Hailsham Bonfire Society also raises money for local charities at the popular firework display.

Last year, this contributed to the £65,000 total raised by Sussex bonfire societies during the season.
