Large emergency response to St Leonards flats a 'false alarm'

An incident which saw eight fire engines called to a high rise tower in St Leonards was a false alarm, the fire service has confirmed.

East Sussex Fire were called to Kennedy Court, St Leonards, at about 2pm today (Tuesday, December 22).

Eight fire engines attended the scene, which the fire service said is 'standard procedure' for a high rise incident.

However, on arrival, firefighters established the incident was a false alarm 'caused by building work'.
