With nominations open throughout October and November, customers, followers and members of the public were encouraged to nominate someone within a local Lloyds Pharmacy team or a person in their community who they thought should be recognised for going the extra mile.

Receiving a wealth of nominations across the country, it was down to a panel of expert judges from the Lloyds Pharmacy team including Victoria Steele, deputy superintendent Pharmacist, Kath Bishop, customer and market insight manager, Steve Worboys, head of retail, and Jane Davies, HR director, to select just 12 winners.

Gloria won the award after receiving a nomination from a very grateful friend.

The friend said: “Gloria heads up the Felpham Emergency Resilience Team, which during the Covid pandemic has provided a lifeline service to those shielding or in difficulty.

“From picking up and delivering medication, to collecting and delivering shopping, while also organising regular phone chats to isolated people as well as those with longer term mental health issues.

“Her tireless work coordinating her group of volunteers has received praise from many quarters and been described as a life saver by concerned relatives often living many miles away.

“Without her efforts many people would have had a much harder time over the last nine months, and she shows no sign of slowing up. A real person making a real difference.”
