Peterhouse Christmas coffee morning

Visitors at the Peterhouse day centre have been busy making, baking and creating Christmas gifts to sell at their coffee morning and gift sale on Friday

The ideas for gifts were supplied by the visitors and created with the help of the day centre team.

These include traditional sweets like peppermint creams and bon bons to more select treats like christmas pudding truffles laced with sherry.

Old favourites such as chilli-spiced pickled onions and Christmas shortbread will be available, as will handmade craft including trinket boxes, hand painted glasses, expresso coffee sets and a range of christmas cards and gift tags.

There will also be a raffle.

All funds raised will go towards new supplies to make further crafts in the day centre.

The Peterhouse day centre allows older people from the local community to come and make new friends over a coffee and a chat. It offers the opportunity to reacquaint themselves with old skills such as baking and painting and also to learn new ones like digital photography and online shopping.

The coffee morning will be Friday November 20 between 10-12.00noon. It is also an opportunity to come and look around at what Peterhouse has to offer. Any enquiries, please contact Mandi Stovell on 01424 730809.
