Pett and Pett Level

Church Services: On Sunday July 12 – Sea Sunday, St Nicholas, Pett Level at 10:30am. For some years Pett Church has been sharing this service with the Methodists on the beach by the Rescue Boat House. It is a great place to hold an outdoor service and this year it will be shared not only with the Methodists but also the Fairlight congregation and the children of the Uniformed Organisations will be joining in.

As always the collection will be donated to The Mission to Seafarers- a worldwide organisation supporting and helping seafarers, who are often away from home for many months at a time. Please come along and bring a chair, as deck chairs are not provided!

Village Choir: On Monday July 13 the Village Choir will meet again at 7:30pm in Pett Methodist Chapel.

Pett Older People’s Project: On Tuesday July 14 POPP will feature Tai Chi and Games. The session runs from 10:30am to 2pm and will include a two-course lunch for just £5.

Pett Gardening Club: This month, on Tuesday July 14, there will be a mini tour of members’ gardens in the village.

Pett WI: On Friday July 17 Pett WI will welcome back a popular local speaker. John Taylor will be following up on last year’s talk about the History of Pett with another about Pett Level. If last year’s well received talk is anything to go by, his talk is bound to be interesting and informative.

Visitors are always welcome at the meeting, which starts at 2:30pm at Pett Village Hall and, as always, a delicious tea will follow the talk.

Songs for a Summer Evening: On Saturday July 18, at 7pm, Molly Townson will be presenting “Cantabile” in “ Songs for a Summer Evening’, at Guestling Church. The concert will feature Alison Turley (Soprano); Richard Eldridge (Accompanist) and the Guestling Church Choir.

Tickets for the event are £12 each, which includes refreshments with strawberries and cream. All concert proceeds will be going to the St. Laurence Church Guestling Restoration Fund. Tickets can be obtained from Gill Perry (01424 814578) or Molly Townson (01424 812520).

The Pett Summer Dance: On Saturday July 25, after the Flower Show, there will dancing from 8 till late (1am). Deejay Hambo will play music ancient and modern, from the sixties to the present day.

Bring your own food and drink and a suggested donation of £5 per person. All proceeds will go to Pett Recreation Ground New Pavilion Fund.
