Police plea on vandals

SEAFORD police said they were disappointed to hear of a 10-year catalogue of vandalism against the Crouch Bowling Club.

Members said roof tiles were regularly smashed, golf and football were played on the greens which cost thousands of pounds to maintain and empty bottles of alcohol were left scattered.

Sgt David Kemp said: 'I was disappointed to hear reference to 10 years of vandalism. The police have not been notified of a catalogue of damage. I was aware of a number of sporadic incidents and these have been investigated.

'Uniform officers patrol this area whenever possible as part of our town centre patrols. I urge people to report incidents when they happen so that we can both respond to them and I can organise preventative patrols.

'I will be speaking to the town council to determine a longer term solution.'

The council has received a request from the club for a contribution towards CCTV.
