Police Seek Crash Driver

POLICE are seeking a driver who ran from an accident which left two people injured, three cars seriously damaged and a road blocked for 90 minutes.

The A269 Ninfield Road had to be sealed off by police while they dealt with the aftermath of Monday's 10.20am crash.

Badly damaged cars littered the junction with Mount Idol View, Sidley.

A police spokesman said later: "A Vauxhall Cavalier entered Ninfield Road from Mount Idol View and was in collision with a Fiat which was travelling north along Ninfield Road.

"The Fiat in turn was in collision with a Renault which was travelling south along Ninfield Road.

"Substantial damage was cause to all three vehicles.

"The driver and passenger from the Renault Scenic sustained some injuries, although not serious or life-threatening, as a result of the incident.

"The driver of the Cavalier left the scene before the arrival of the emergency services and enquiries are continuing with regard to this person.

"The road was totally obstructed for one and a half hours to allow for scene investigation and clearing of debris."
