A police sniffer dog team quickly arrived, but despite their best efforts were unable to track the man down.

The road was closed for over an hour while firefighters from Bohemia and the Ridge stations made both vehicles safe.

A spokesman for Bohemia Road said: "We did not need to free

anyone from the vehicle, the guy had already had it away on his heels, he can't have been in a very good condition."
