Questions can be put to candidate

RESIDENTS will have the chance to question a police and crime commissioner candidate.

Conservative PCC candidate Katy Bourne will stop off in North Bersted as part of her continuing her listening tour of Sussex.

Katy, who hopes to be Sussex’s first commissioner after elections in November, wants to hear residents’ views on crime and policing.

She said: “Every resident needs to have a good understanding of this important change in policing. I’m determined to hear as many opinions and concerns as possible in the weeks leading up to the election to ensure I can effectively represent every resident in Sussex.

“I want visible and effective policing in every neighbourhood, so meeting residents to hear their views is vital.”

The meeting will take place on October 30, in the Bersted Community Centre, Chalcraft lane, from 7pm to 8.30pm.

The PCC will replace the existing police authority and has a larger remit, which includes community safety and crime prevention.

All residents on the electoral roll can vote for their chosen candidate on November 15. Katy has been selected to represent the conservative party in Sussex.
