Resident searches for artist

A BEXHILL resident, who purchased six original watercolours from a local charity shop, is attempting to trace the talented artist who painted them.

Heather Smart-Morris bought the paintings, which consist of five colourful rural scenes and one seascape, at Bexhill's 'MIND' charity shop a couple of weeks ago, and said she thinks the artist would be a local person as she believes the water colours appear to be local scenes.

She said: "The paintings are very finely produced and I would love to know more about the artist, where the watercolours were painted and if he or she would be prepared to sign them."

Heather is so delighted with her collection that she has already arranged to have all six paintings professionally mounted and framed at Picturecraft in Western Road.

If anyone has any information on the artist please contact Bexhill Observer at www.bexhillobserver.net or call (01424) 730555.
