Ribbon cut on relocated tourist information point

THE weekend saw the re-launch of the Bexhill Visitor Info Point which is now in St John's Church hall in Buckhurst Place.

Organiser and founder Sandra Melvin said: “It was fantastic to re-open after just over a year when unfortunately we had to close due to work on the Colonnade.

“Actually being on the seafront is a better location but we are happy to use St John’s Church hall, thanks to Michael Ensor, who suggested it.

“This is a great location in Town Hall Square and easily accessible.

“We open Saturdays and Sundays from 11-3pm.”

The Bexhill Visitor Info Point was set up in answer to Bexhill’s lack of tourist information and is manned by volunteers.

It’s an ideal opportunity for local residents who are enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the town, as Sandra said: “Although we have a good team of volunteers we are looking for more.

“If anyone is interested please contact me on 07801921105, or pop along when we are open.”
