Rising living costs and benefit cuts to hit families at Christmas
IT is meant to be a time when people eat and drink too much, exchange presents and enjoy the company of family and loved-ones.
But for many across the Gazette area Christmas is not a time for celebration, but a source of anxiety as parents worry about how they will keep houses warm, feed families, and buy the presents their children want.
Each year during the Christmas season the Citizens Advice Bureau, which has a branch in Anchor Springs, Littlehampton, has an uptick in the amount of people seeking help.
But this year that number is higher than normal, as those affected by benefits cuts, or the rising cost of living, visit the CAB in need of help.
