Robber threatens woman and child near Chichester

A WOMAN was robbed after a man barged his way into a house.

Police are today (July 10) investigating a robbery in Crockerhill, near Chichester, after the robber entered the home, threatened the woman, then stole a small safe, an Apple Mac Pro laptop and an iPad.

“The incident happened just before 9pm on Thursday (July 9) when the occupant, a 20-year-old woman, was verbally threatened and made to hand over valuables to the offender. She was shaken but unhurt. A six-year-old boy, son of the woman’s boyfriend, was also unharmed,” said a police spokesman.

He said the offender was last seen heading towards the A27 between Tangmere and Fontwell. It was thought he may have been driving a silver Volkswagen Caddy.

“He is described as a black male with dreadlock hair tied in a pony-tail,” the spokesman added. “He was wearing a cluster of bling earrings and a high-visibility vest. which it is believed he later discarded.”

Anyone who saw anything suspicious or who may have other information about the incident was asked to email [email protected] or phone 101, quoting serial 1571 of July 9.
