Rother choir stars at seasonal celebration

A SEASONAL drinks party for Rother council staff and members at Bexhill Town Hall was tunefully enhanced when a 25-strong choir, consisting mainly of council employees, sang Christmas songs and carols for everyone's entertainment.

Rother Community Choir was created last year at the suggestion of council finance officer Sally Vennard, and now helps to raise money for good causes while providing enjoyment and a sense of achievement for all who take part.

It is led by Beccy Hurrell, who said: “The choir has come from almost nothing to a level where it can perform brilliantly.”

It recently put on a charity concert in Ninfield in aid of Battle and Villages Lions Club, raising some £450.
