Running in the rain for a good cause at Hastings Race for Life
Torrential rain failed to dampen the enthusiasm of hundreds of women who took part in the Race for Life event in Hastings on Sunday (June 12).
The heaviest rain coincided the 11am start of the event at Alexandra Park which saw a tide of pink brighten up the day as runners dressed up to complete 10k and 5k circuits.
Also taking part in the run were girls under 16 and boys under 12, making it a real family event.
Race for Life is the UK’s largest women-only fundraising event series where all the money raised goes to fund Cancer Research UK’s life-saving work.
The final figure for Sunday’s run is not yet known, but it is expected to raise thousands of pounds for the charity.
