QUILT SHOW: I know many of you are interested in the events run in support of St Michaels Hospice and here is one close to home at Sedlescombe village hall tomorrow, Saturday, and Sunday. Enjoy a beautiful selection of hand made quilts at the Quilt Show. There will also be a raffle, tombola, sales table and refreshments. Entry is only £1 and accompanied children are free. SEDLESCOMBE GREEN WI: The next meeting of Sedlescombe green WI is on Wednesday in the village hall at 7.30pm. The speaker will be a real Pearly King. This is a change to the speaker in the printed programme due to ill health. The competition is flower of the month and a pearly button. Visitors and new members are always welcome, for any further details please contact Rosemary on 870533. Menus for the Christmas lunch will also be available for members to make their choice of food

ADVENT FAIR: Next Saturday, November 28 St John the Baptist church invite you to their new look Advent Fair opening at noon. Light lunches will be served, home made soup and roll and of course, tea and cake available throughout the afternoon. There will be all the traditional stalls to browse, Christmas cards bulbs in pots hopefully ready to flower for Christmas, pick up a gift for family or friends and for foodies a well stocked cake stall, books , jewellery, lots of teddy bears , games of chance to play and as always toys and puzzles plus Hilary and Bill’s large wine raffle. The advent draw mentioned below will also be drawn during the afternoon with a lucky person winning £200 towards the festive season. ADVENT DRAW: In advance of the Advent fair mentioned above, Sedlescombe Parish Church are holding an Advent Draw with tickets available from Sedlescombe Stores, the Queens Head and various sellers around the village. First prize £200 cash with many other great prizes from local businesses. Tickets are just £1 and the draw will take place on Saturday November 28 at the village hall. Please show your support by buying your tickets now.

CHRISTMAS FAYRE: The village school, also, have their Christmas Fayre on Saturday November 28 from noon until 3pm. A busy day for the village in preparation for all your Christmas plans, luckily as they are not too far apart you will be able to visit at least one and hopefully both during the afternoon.

FLOWER CLUB: Many members and visitors had a very enjoyable evening last Wednesday evening when Sue Shaw from the Maidstone area visited the club and gave a demonstration entitled Seasons Greetings. Please see photos of some of the designs on display that were then raffles off at the end of the evening. LIONS CLUB: Battle and Villages Lions Club engage with their local communities providing a service to improve the quality of life for many. We are part of Lions Clubs International which is the worlds’ largest service club. During the year we raise money by doing the following: Children in Need Quiz at Ninfield Memorial Hall. an Opera Evening. Easter- Egg and Chocolate Father Christmas draw. Go Karting for LIBRA (Lions International Blood Appeal). China Smashes plus many other events. All monies raised from these events goes straight to charity, nothing is deducted for administration. As Sedlescombe is part of our area, we would like to invite you to come along to one of our monthly meetings to see what we do and perhaps become a member of this very worthwhile Club.
