“We raised more than £600. As always with these occasions, it’s a team effort. I was very grateful to all those who loaned equipment and helped make the party run smoothly on the day.

“It was a pleasure to work with the team from ESAB. I am delighted that the money we raised will go a little way to helping with their important work.”

Daniel Brookbank the chief executive of ESAB said: “We are very grateful to Wilma and her team of ladies who provided us with a wonderful tea as well as donating £600 to the Friends of ESAB.

“All our work is carried out with money raised from the community and from grants and trusts so we depend on generous donors like the people of Battle to enable us to look after over 1,700 blind and partially sighted people across the county.”
