Traffic survey by developers

A random transport and travel survey of 700 households in Bognor Regis is being undertaken by Arun District Council's preferred developer of the town's £100m regeneration scheme.

St Modwen Developments are asking residents to get involved in the major survey which is due to start in the next couple of weeks.

The survey, says St Modwen, forms part of an extensive research and consultation programme being undertaken by the developer as part of its regeneration proposals of the Regis Centre and Hothampton sites in Bognor Regis.

Additional traffic counts will also take place at the same time and other transport studies which will, say the developers 'build up an accurate picture of how people move in and around Bognor Regis and provide a full understanding of the town's transport needs'.

The surveys will be carried out across the households randomly selected from the electoral roll which will shortly receive letters from Halcrow, St Modwen's appointed traffic consultants, that fully explain the process.

Those being surveyed will be asked a series of short questions on their travel habits and the make-up of their household. All household members will then be asked to keep a travel diary for a day, recording their journeys and mode of transport.
