Patrick McLoughlin, the secretary of state for transport, will be meeting with Arundel and South Downs MP Nick Herbert to assess the state of the road – which during rush hour is often a misery for hundreds of motorists.

He will also be speaking to local councillors from across the Arundel areas to gain their views about the highway.

During his trip, the secretary of state will also be briefed by leaders of A27 Action, a new campaign that is being launched today (Thursday, June 26) which aims to bring significant improvements right along the A27 from Worthing up to Chichester.
