Tudor Day at St Mary Magdelene school

IT WAS a day that was described as being "fit for a King" when year five pupils at St Mary Magdalene's school enjoyed a 'Tudor day' recently.

School secretary Stephanie Thompson said the special day commenced with the children getting into their roles as Tudor folk by dressing up in medieval costumes. After which they then had the opportunity to try a variety of Tudor activities, including writing with a quill, making

Tudor toys and lavender bags, and dancing Tudor style.

She said: "The day was a culmination of work carried out during last term by year five as part of their learning journey about the Tudors."

The day ended with a Tudor banquet similar to those held in the court of King Henry V111.
