Garry Rose, who is local to the Eastbourne area but whose round also covers Uckfield, East Hoathly and Buxted, is one of only six milkmen to reach the semi-finals in the search for milk&more’s milkman of the year 2017.
A franchisee with the company for 15 years, Garry beat off competition from almost 1,200 milkmen after receiving numerous nominations from local customers. A sheet metal worker for 16 years before becoming a milkman, Garry joined milk&more after looking for a role in the community that involved working with people.

From helping an elderly customer to prepare breakfast; walking the dog of a customer suffering from cancer of the spine, to going out of his way to make last-minute deliveries to young families, Garry goes above and beyond to support his customers in the local area and shows there is so much more to being a milkman than delivering milk.
Hearing the news that he had been shortlisted, Garry said: “I am over the moon to have been nominated by my customers for a job I enjoy doing so much. I am proud to be able to offer a personal and quality service that everyone in the community can rely on, so to be nominated in this way means the world to me.”
After securing one of just six semi-final places in the competition, which received 10,000 nominations from customers across England and south Wales, Garry is now in with a chance of being crowned overall winner on April 24.
Chris Munn, head of marketing at milk&more said: “We believe that our milkmen and women are integral to their communities and we’re thrilled at the response to the competition from our customers. We constantly strive to provide a friendly, trustworthy service and it’s thanks to milkmen like Garry that we are proud to continue this tradition.”
