Welcome for new police support officer

Cllr Shing said: 'Residents will be pleased to hear that Jamie has come in to replace Jo Lane, the previous PCSO who was very respected and valued.

'Without doubt there is a job to do in the area and it's good to hear that Jamie is keen to approach it with the energy, confidence and ability of his predecessor.'

PCSO Harwood said: 'I have lived in the south Wealden area all my life and I've a personal interest in all the issues that arise as well as the local people.

'I look forward to being an approachable presence and hope that together we can forge some excellent bonds between the public and Sussex Police.

'My role means that I will spend most of my time on foot, dealing with local low level crime and antisocial behaviour.'

Jamie also explained that although he is the dedicated PCSO for Polegate he's also taking on the Willingdon area temporarily.

A PCSO for Willingdon will finish training in two months.
