ROAD CLOSURES: Valerie Bennett, Clerk to the Parish Council, writes: The Parish Council have been advised that Stream Lane will be closed for five days from next Monday November 23 between the hours of 7am to 5pm.

The following week, Monday November 30, Riccards Lane will be closed for five days also between the hours of 7am to 5pm. The closures are to allow U.K. Power to carry out works.

CHURCH NEWS: The special service to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the death of Malcolm Muggeridge last Sunday at Whatlington went very well. Malcolm’s niece, Rev Sally Muggeridge gave a most interesting address covering the key points of his life and of his Christian Faith. In the Intersessions we remembered all who those who have been affected by the recent dreadful events in Paris. The hymns reflected Malcolm’s faith and included ‘Who would true valour see’.

It was noted how a number of literary and journalistic people had come from the village, including a former editor of The Daily Telegraph, of which at one time Malcom Muggeridge was Assistant Editor.
