TRINITY CHURCH: At 10am today, Friday, the worship group will be leading the Good Friday meditation at Trinity Church. The service on Easter Sunday is at 10.30am and will be led by Rev Edmee Hurst.

ST MARY’S CHURCH: At 10am today, Friday, Children’s Good Friday Worship will be followed by hot cross buns in the church hall. At 1pm there will be a devotional hour and at 2pm the Good Friday Liturgy and Holy Communion. On Holy Saturday the Easter Vigil is at 8pm. On Easter Day Sunday Holy Communion is at 8am and the Parish Eucharist is at 9.45am. The Family Eucharist is at 11.30am and Evensong is at 6.30pm.

UNITED BENEFICE: St Andrew’s Church Jevington is part of the United Benefice of East Dean with Friston and Jevington. At 10.30am today Good Friday Children’s Worship followed by an all age service is at East Dean Church. At 11.30am the Cross is carried from East Dean to Friston Church as an Act of Witness and a Meditative Service is at noon. There will also be an Hour at the Cross Service at 11am at Jevington Church. On Easter Saturday there will be a Service of Light at Friston Church at 7pm, and on Easter Sunday the Holy Communion Service at Jevington Church is at 11.15am. There is also a Communion Service at 8am at Friston Church, and Parish Communion at 9.30am at East Dean Church and at 11am there is an all age Easter Celebration with short Communion at East Dean followed by the children’s Easter Egg Hunt.

EASTER WALK: This will take place on Monday and is in aid of Family Support Work. The walkers will be leaving from Gills Lap car park in the Ashdown Forest at 10am and returning there after an 8.5 miles circular walk. If you would like to take part you could download your registration and sponsorship forms from www.familysupportwork.org.uk . If you don’t fancy walking but would like to sponsor Sue, sponsor forms are at the back of the church.

BRITISH QUEEN: Fifth Avenue will be providing the entertainment at the British Queen at 8.30pm tomorrow, Saturday. There will also be live music at the Wheatsheaf.

FUNDRAISING: The Messy Church get-together which take place once a month in St Mary’s Church Hall for young children and their carers are proving to be very popular. It has now been decided to have an evening of fun and good food at 7pm on Saturday April 23 in the church hall. Details are still to be worked out but it should certainly be worth the ticket price of £8. Money raised will be used to purchase equipment for Messy Church. WILLINGDON FLOWER CLUB: Will be meeting at 1.45pm for a 2pm start at Willingdon Memorial Hall in Church Street on Friday April 1. There will be a demonstration by Jan Mason entitled Designs From Around The World. ASTRONOMY: Eastbourne Astronomical Society will be meeting from 7.30pm to 10pm on Saturday April 2 at Willingdon Memorial Hall. Professor Nick Kanas will be giving a talk entitled Celestial Cartography from its Beginning to Modern Times.

POLEGATE/WILLINGDON WINDMILL: Will be opening for the new season from 2pm to 5pm on Sunday April 3. Volunteer guides and cashiers are still urgently needed. Training would be given. Please contact Lawrence or Patricia Stevens on 01323 734496 for further information.

MEETINGS: Willingdon and Jevington Parish Council will be holding a planning meeting at 7pm on Tuesday followed by a cemetery committee meeting at 7.30pm at Willingdon Community School. Please ring 01323 489603 for further information. Meetings are open to the public.

CRAFT HOBBIES AND ACTIVITIES: Willingdon and Jevington Parish Council will be holding a craft, hobbies and activities day from 10am to 4pm on Saturday April 9 at Wannock Village Hall. This is a new venture, and to make it a success, the parish council would like people in the community with a craft, hobby or activity, to book a table and promote what they do. There is no entry fee and if you can make things, you are free to sell them. To book a table please contact Nicola on 01323 489603.
