Brandon Heryet, from Taylors Close, Yapton, said he had chosen to wear the Poppy Appeal bands in the week leading up to Armistice Day as a sign of respect for servicemen and women past and present.

However, the year-ten pupil at Ormiston Six Villages Academy, in Chichester, says he was told last Wednesday that he could not wear the charity wristbands because they were not allowed under school uniform rules.
