Yobs target motor firm

FURTHER attacks of criminal damage in Bexhill have cost a business an estimated £4,000.

Autolec Motor Factors, in Amherst Road, has been targeted by yobs who have left a trail of destruction in recent weeks.

Workers arrived at the motor parts business on Monday to find eight tyres on three of their vans had been slashed during the night.

It follows an attack just a week before when arsonists broke into a van and torched the inside.

The perimeter fence has also been subjected to fire damage in recent weeks.

This week managers of the business called for swift police action before somebody is seriously injured.

They believe the acts are directly linked to the fire which destroyed three Renown buses parked in their depot last week and other instances of antisocial behaviour in the town.

Autolec depot manager Kevin Gilbertson (above) and owner Bev Marshall, were critical of the police using a dispersal order to move on groups in the town centre and demanded arrests.
