Young performers' showcase

A BUSY weekend for Lacey Theatre Arts - a group for three to 16-year-olds keen to learn and enhance performing skills - saw boys and girls rehearsing during a fund-raising coffee morning and performing in Bexhill Old Town's Christmas Spectacular.

Owner Amanda Lacey, a former professional dancer, said: “We meet at St Peter’s Community Centre in the Old Town from Wednesdays to Sundays, and embrace ballet, tap, modern dance and musical theatre.

“The coffee morning was by way of an end-of-term get together for Christmas and helped boost our costume fund, while we enjoyed being able to showcase our activities as part of the Christmas Spectacular.”

Amanda added: “It’s certainly been a busy time for us. In October we put on a show which raised £1,000 for the Great Ormond Street children’s hospital, which has been treating one of our young people.”
