Walt Disney World’s Cinderella Castle is getting a makeover - here’s what it will look like
Walt Disney World’s Cinderella Castle has been an iconic fairytale landmark, looming high over the Magic Kingdom for decades - but it’s now set to undergo a major makeover.
These new plans will be in honour of the 70th anniversary of the animated Cinderella film.
What updates will be made?
The resort, in Orlando, Florida, has promised that the castle will get "bold, shimmering and regal enhancements.” Disney has revealed its upcoming plans for the castle with a small peek of concept art.
This concept art illustrates an eye-catching and very Cinderella-esque rose gold and pink colour scheme, alongside updating the iconic blue towers.
When will the makeover be finished?
Disney has said that "the royal makeover begins in the coming weeks and continues throughout summer".
Will I still be able to take photos?
The Sleeping Beauty castle in California had an update in 2019, but tourists were faced with barriers around the hotspot.
However, it was still possible for tourists to take pictures from certain locations in the park.
If you are planning a trip to Walt Disney World and a photo of the castle to add to your album is of particular importance to you, it may be better to book after summer 2020.
