Angmering's Tutt is the champion again

ANGMERING-based Mitchell Tutt, 22, is the British Under-23 Bench-Press champion for a third year in a row.

He won the competition with his first lift of 180kilo, although then managed 195k, before failing with his third lift at 207k.

Tutt said: "I'd won it the previous two years, and was desperate to get the hat-trick.

"It doesn't matter what happens next year now, because I've got three in a row, although I'd like to win it endlessly.

"There's no real sponsorship in this sport, so you know whoever turns up is really dedicated and is going to be tough competition."

In the event, including the seniors and masters, Tutt, who weighs 15 stone, was third overall pound-for-pound.

He will now represent Great Britain in the World Champion-ships in Czech Republic later this year.

This year, he hopes to grab a place in the top five.

Before the World Championships, Tutt has the South East Bench-Press Championships '” which he is looking to win for a fourth successive year '” and a Strongest Man competition.
