FOLLOWING successful pre-season warm-ups against Bognor Pirates and City of Portmouth Smugglers, the serious action starts for Barkers (Tarring) Worthing Thunder this weekend, with a visit to Kings Lynn to play the College of East Anglia Fury in a National Trophy group game.

Despite a number of changes to both the playing and coaching line up since the successful League and play-off winning 2006-7 campaign, the team appears to have settled well together and is looking forward to its first competitive action of the season.

Says newly promoted assistant coach Daniel Jenner: "Despite a few new faces being around, the core of the team is the same as last year, so it has not taken long for them to get to know each other.

"They are keen to get on with the serious business of defending the titles we won last year and trying to lay our hands on the other trophies that are available."
