Blues hoping to recapture form

SIDLEY United are on their travels for their next two matches with a Sussex Senior Cup tie at Wick on Saturday January 19 and a midweek league match against Hassocks.

The Blues have had their progress halted by a string of postponements and joint manager Peter Heritage hopes his side will be able to recapture their pre-Christmas form.

"With all the games cancelled we ve got to get back into the rhythm of playing again as before the break we were flying," he said.

"Wick is always a tight game for us but it ll be nice to progress in this cup as we could be playing Bognor in the next round. They have a large following so it could put some money in the coffers."

Although United comfortably beat them earlier in the season, Hassocks have put together a decent run of late and Wednesday s game will be no pushover.

Bexhill Town have another tricky game in Division Three, away to second-placed Pease Pottage Village.

Gary Light s side desperately need to pick up points as they are languishing second from bottom having played more games than most of the higher clubs.
