Bowls open entry deadline looms

The tournament will run from Monday August 11 until Saturday August 18. The events will be men’s and ladies’ singles, men’s and ladies’ pairs, and an open triples which can be contested by men’s, ladies’ or mixed teams.

The total prize-money will be £2,000 and trophies will be awarded to the winners. Entry forms can be obtained from the treasurer on (01424) 443357, the secretary on (01424) 430349 or the website www.hastingsbowlstournament.com

After a very successful centenary event in 2011, entries for the 2012 tournament, as well as for the subsequent Charity Tournament, have been very encouraging.

The Charity Open Triples Tournament - where the committee hopes to raise as much as possible to share between its chosen charities - will take place on Sunday September 30.

Applications for this event must arrive by Wednesday August 29 and forms can be obtained as above. The entry fee will be £6 per team and cheques are to be made payable to the Hastings Charity Tournament. Further details are on the event website.

The tournament committee is delighted to announce that Croft Glass Ltd will continue its sponsorship of the event for the fifth year running.
