Brighton wins an early racing fixture

BRIGHTON Racecourse is to stage an early horse racing fixture on Wednesday April 8 after the popular Sussex track successfully bid for the right to stage the meeting, which has been transferred from Great Leighs Racecourse.

Admission will be reduced to 10 only '” including a free race programme '” and there will be a single enclosure, with visitors enjoying full access to the racecourse's facilities.

Groups of ten or more will pay 8 per person and Brighton Racecourse's annual badgeholders can bring a friend for 5.

Stefan Hull, general manager, said: "It's going to be a great afternoon with six good races.

Wednesday April 8 is an additional fixture. The major launch of the 2009 season at Brighton Racecourse takes place on Sunday April 26.
